Two ways to take the exam
Written + Practical
【STEP.01 Written test】
You can take the exam anytime, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
You can download the question sheet and answer sheet after purchase.
The time you purchase the question sheet will be record as the start time of the exam,so please submit your answer sheet to info@music-certification.com within 60 minutes.

※If you pass the written test, we will send you information about the practical test.
【STEP.02 Practical exam】
The practical exam will be a video assessment of two songs.
Please choose two songs that are as different in style as possible, as we will be judging your performance from various angles, such as pitch, sense of rhythm, and expressiveness.
You do not need to be particular about sound quality or image quality, so filming with a smartphone is fine.
Please send us the filmed data for both songs within one week.
※Two pieces of music performed within one week.
※The video audition consists of 2 songs. To allow us to evaluate various aspects such as pitch accuracy, sense of rhythm, and expressiveness, please choose 2 songs that differ as possible in style.
※Smartphone photography allowed.
Practical only
【Practical exam content】
You can take only the practical exam.
If you choose to take only the practical exam, the corresponding grade certification system will apply, and you will be certified at the grade that matches your skill level.
You will only fail if your ability does not meet the 5th grade.
Please submit your video within one week after purchasing the “Practical Exam Only” option.

Five ranks based on ability

There are five levels, from expert to beginner, so you can take the test at the level you prefer.
If you have not reached the level you intended to take the test at or if you believe you have sufficient ability, we will also advise you of the appropriate level when determining whether you pass or fail.
What is the Musical Ability Test
The Music Proficiency Test is a certification system that covers everything from instrument-related exams—such as Vocal, Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Piano—to foundational knowledge tests that contribute to musical literacy, such as Sight-Reading exams.
Standards for musical ability are often very subjective and vague, but obtaining a certification allows you to receive an objective evaluation. This provides credibility to demonstrate your skills and knowledge to schools, prospective employers, students in your lessons, or band members. As a result, people of all levels—from beginners to professionals and instructors—regularly take these tests, regardless of genre or experience.
